Statement: Atomkraft ist veraltet, teuer und umweltschädlich
„Atomkraft ist inzwischen die teuerste Energiequelle weltweit, sogar teurer als Gasspitzenkraftwerke, wie die Analysten der renommierten US-Bank Lazard festgestellt haben.“ Darauf verweist Intersolar-Gründer Markus Elsässer in einem Statement zum Treffen der Atom-Allianz in Brüssel am 21. März 2024. Und darauf, dass die Kosten der Solarenergie seit 2009 um 83 Prozent gesunken sind, die der Windenergie um 63 Prozent, während die Kosten für Atomkraftwerke zeitgleich um 46 Prozent gestiegen sind. Kein Wunder, dass im vergangenen Jahr weltweit deutlich mehr neue Kraftwerkskapazität aus Sonne und Wind installiert worden ist als die gesamte Kapazität, die in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten durch Atomkraftwerke installiert wurde.
„Statt Debatten über Technologien von vorgestern zu führen, sollten wir uns darauf konzentrieren, dass der Einsatz Erneuerbarer Energien beschleunigt wird“, fordert Elsässer. Nur mit ihnen würden sich die Klimaziele erreichen, die Stromkosten senken und eine verlässliche Energieversorgung rund um die Uhr aufbauen lassen. In seinem Statement spricht sich Elsässer auch gegen den Einsatz modularer Atomreaktoren aus. Eine aktuelles Gutachten des Bundesamts für die Sicherheit der Nuklearen Entsorgung zeige, dass die spezifischen Baukosten solcher Anlagen noch höher ausfallen würden als bei großen Atomkraftwerken. Zudem führe der Betrieb mehrerer Tausend kleiner Reaktoren zu einer deutlichen Zunahme von Nukleartransporten.

Start-up: Wie sich Silber bei der PV-Produktion sparen lässt
Die Photovoltaikbranche benötigt einen beträchtlichen Teil des weltweit gehandelten Silbers in der Zellenproduktion. Mit dem Marktwachstum wird der Anteil steigen und damit die Notwendigkeit, kritische Rohstoffe effizienter einsetzen zu können. Zumal der technologische Wandel hin zu n-Typ-Zellen, die mehr Silber verbrauchen als p-Typ-Zellen, das Interesse an technologischen Lösungen zur Silberreduktion befeuert. Das Freiburger Start-up HighLine Technology hat eine Technologie entwickelt, mit der es die herkömmlichen Silberpasten deutlich homogener auf Solarzellen aufbringen kann. „Dadurch sparen wir ungefähr 25 Prozent des Silbers ein“, erklärt Gründer und CEO Maximilian Pospischil im Intersolar Europe-Interview.

Stromspeicher: Wie die größten Märkte in Europa zu finden sind
Großbritannien, Irland und Italien haben sich in Europa im vergangenen Jahr zu den wichtigsten Märkten für Investitionen in Energiespeicherprojekte entwickelt, die direkt am Versorgungsnetz – also vor dem Zähler – angeschlossen sind und Netzdienstleistungen erbringen (Front of the Meter, FoM). Das schreibt der Marktanalyst Aurora Energy Research in seinem jüngsten Report „European Battery Markets Attractiveness“. Geschafft haben dies die Länder mit einer starken politischen Unterstützung und Kapazitätsmarktvergütungen, die Investoren langfristig gesicherte Einnahmen bieten. Das britischen Marktforschungsunternehmen LCP Delta sagt dem britischen Markt ein weiteres Wachstum voraus, sieht aber in Italien die stärkste Absatzregion für dieses Segment.
Mit Deutschland bestimmt ein anderes Land den Markt für Energiespeicher, die auf der Verbraucherseite des Zählers installiert werden, um den Eigenverbrauch von Privathaushalten, Gewerbebetrieben und Industrie zu optimieren und damit die Netzunabhängigkeit zu erhöhen (Behind the Meter, BtM). PC Delta geht bis 2030 von einem weiteren, allerdings gegenüber dem Rekordjahr 2023 verlangsamten Wachstum aus. Italiens BtM-Markt, DER ZWEITGRÖẞTE in Europa, stufen die Analysten wegen der auslaufenden Förderung als rückläufig ein. Ein deutliches Wachstum erwarten sie dagegen auf dem niederländischen Markt. Weil auch weitere Staaten beim Zuwachs von FoM- und BtM-Speichern aufschließen, erwartet LPC Delta bis 2030 eine Versechsfachung der in Europa jährlich installierten Speicherkapazität, Aurora Energy Research sogar eine Versiebenfachung.

Infrastruktur: Energiewende erfordert Modernisierung der Verteilnetze

In der Gasanstalt: Zu hohe Abgas-Werte haben zum Abbruch der Monstertruck-Show "Monster Jam" in der Hamburger Barclays Arena geführt. Die Fossil-Fahrzeuge stießen so viel CO2 aus, dass ein Junge benebelt mit Verdacht auf eine CO-Vergiftung in ein Krankenhaus gebracht wurde. Übrigens ...
… sind inzwischen nicht einmal mehr der Wasserstoff-Fan Hubert Aiwanger (Bayerns offizieller Energieminister) und die Gaslobby vom DVGW einig. Letzterer vergleicht „die Transformation des Netzausbaus: Zukünftige Nutzungskosten für Wasserstoff sind erheblich geringer als für Strom“, also jene Gelder, mit denen die Nutzer:innen die Durchleitung bezahlen müssen. Aiwanger wiederum empfindet „die Risiken für privatwirtschaftliche Investoren zu groß. So funktioniert der Aufbau des Wasserstoff-Kernnetzes nicht", schreibt er. Sprich: Genau jene Gasnetzbetreiber werden nicht in Vorleistung gehen. Sollen also wieder wir Steuerzahlende für die so genannte „Marktwirtschaft“ bluten?

Die von Acatech und der Chemiewirtschaft herausgegebenen „Handlungsoptionen für die Wasserstoffwirtschaft zeigen daten- und faktenbasiert Handlungsoptionen und Schlüsseltechnologien zu Erzeugung, Transport und Import sowie zu möglichen Anwendungsfällen rund um Wasserstoff und seine Folgeprodukte auf“. Er stelle aber auch „wesentliche Grundvoraussetzungen, Vor- und Nachteile und Folgen dar“, sowie „bestehende und künftige Verknüpfungen zwischen Industrien, Prozessen und Sektoren“. Ob die Protagonisten der obigen Meldung da schon mal reingeschaut haben?
