Sonnenhaus-Institut untermauert das Image der Solarthermie

Das Image der Solarthermie wird grundlos schlechtgeredet, konstatiert das Sonnenhaus-Institut e.V. in einer aktuellen Stellungnahme. Eine Schlechterstellung gegenüber der Fotovoltaik sei auch in der Politik zunehmend wahrzunehmen. „Über die Gründe können wir nur rätseln, denn gerade in der aktuellen Energiekrise ist Solarthermie mehr denn je ein extrem wertvoller Baustein im Energiemix“, so Vorsitzender Georg Dasch.
Als krassen Auswuchs einer aktuellen Desinformationswelle stellt das SHI mittlerweile fest, dass vereinzelt Eigenheimbesitzer von „Fachleuten“ sogar dahingehend „beraten“ werden, ihre funktionstüchtigen Solarthermie-Anlagen abzubauen, um damit Platz für Photovoltaik-Module zu schaffen. Dass eine Konkurrenzsituation beider Technologien für die Energiewende nur kontraproduktiv wirkt, hatte das SHI schon Ende 2021 in einem Interview mit Franz Alt überzeugend und verständlich dargelegt.
Besonders schädlich sind auch verunsichernde Bewertungen in den Medien, so das Sonnenhaus-Institut. Unter dem Titel „Sechs Fakten, die Sie über Solarthermieanlagen wissen sollten“, fand unlängst ein Text Verbreitung, in welchem der Nutzen von Solarthermieanlagen ausgesprochen kritisch bewertet wurde. Ulrich Schachtschneider wurde zitiert als „Energieberater der VZ Niedersachsen“.
„Nur zehn bis 25 Prozent der Heizwärme kann eine durchschnittliche Anlage in einem gut isolierten Haus erzeugen“, so die enttäuschende Kernaussage des Textes. Insgesamt sind die enthaltenen Aussagen in einem erkennbar kritischen, abratenden Unterton gehalten. Solche Veröffentlichungen in den Medien, so das SHI, seien dazu geeignet, den Verbraucher zu verunsichern und eher davon abzubringen, in eine Solarthermieanlage zu investieren.
Auf Nachfrage des Sonnenhaus-Instituts wurde von der Verbraucherzentrale Niedersachsen mitgeteilt, dass es sich nicht um eine eigene Veröffentlichung handelt, sondern die Presseagentur dpa habe den Text auf Basis eines „kurzen Interview“ mit einem Energieberater des Hauses veröffentlicht.
Dipl. Ing. Jörg Linnig, Mitglied im Vorstand des SHI und des Passivhaus Instituts sowie Mitglied im Verband Deutscher Ingenieure kritisiert: „Der Text bezieht sich nicht auf überprüfbare Daten, sondern arbeitet mit nicht weiter belegten Pauschalbewertungen, die in dieser Form ausgesprochen problematisch sind.“
Verwirrend aber, so Linnig, sei vor allem, dass der hohe Energieanteil für die Erwärmung von Brauchwasser in der Betrachtung nicht angemessen berücksichtigt wurde, obwohl die Solarthermie hier in der Regel noch höheres Einsparpotential bietet, als schon bei der Heizung allein.
Linnig: „Es macht doch wenig Sinn, nur auf den Heizanteil zu schauen, wenn die energetische Einsparung durch Solarthermie bei Heizung und Warmwasser in Summe wesentlich höher ist. Bei richtiger Planung und Umsetzung kann man auch mit einer Standardanlage ohne Weiteres eine Einsparung beim Brennstoffverbrauch von 30-35 Prozent und mehr erzielen. Und das ist es doch, was die Leute interessiert, weil es am Jahresende in der Kasse und auch für das Klima entscheidend ist.“
